Wow! The Kaiserstuhl. Known as the warmest place in Germany. 27 degrees and clear blue skies.

Weingut Pix is my goal. Reinhold Pix is a passionate winemaker. Ecology is key. Upon arrival (late September) all is prepared for the upcoming harvest. Reinhold goes for small, with crates low to the ground so the grapes will not get damaged. Everything is done by hand. Transportation of the wine at the winery is done by gravity.

I try the Gewürztraminer 2008 and the Lemberger 2007. Both are great! Dry and with a very own Pix style. Grau and Weissburgunders are among the best (quality / price) of Germany year after year.

After a I spend the night in Bötzingen I made a short tour in the area. Impressive nature!
