VDP member The house has performed well over the past 40 years and is a VDP member. The wine cellar has only stainless steel tanks and is the domain of Martin Franzen who took over in 2002 of the icon Hans-Günther Schwarz. After 42 years as a wine maker he is retired now. Outstanding balance The wines of Müller-Catoir accelerate in their outstanding balance, refinement, purity, and tension among the top of the Palatinate. For me it is already several years that we have visited Catoir Müller, located in a monumental building in Mittelhaardt in the Palatinate. In the tasting room they welcome us very friendly. The word tasting room would noet be sufficient to the beautiful room. The people have all the time to tell you about their products. I came home with a delicious dry Riesling Haardter Herrenlatten, a real minerally Gewurztraminer, a Grauburgunder Haardter Herrenlatten and a Rieslaner Auslese. These wines alone are worth the visit to this beautiful winery. Delicious smellRecently I opened a bottle Grauburgunder. It was a great wine with a delicious smell of peaches, dry, and in complete balance. Now you know how Müller-Catoir got famous, because of the excellent wines of course. Only because of the Grauburburgunder I am sure to visit the winery again.
