Chateau L’Arrosee is a modern winery just outside Saint-Emilion. Even though I visited off season I received a warm welcome. Of course a private tour in French was possible if I wanted. Impressive cellars with equally impressive stories about vinification methods were thrown upon me. However, when it was time to open a bottle this proved not possible. What a bummer! By the way, usually it is possible to taste the wine here, but you can’t buy any (as is often the case for wineries in Bordeaux). I was pointed in the direction of one of the many shops in the village for any purchases. Somewhat disillusioned I actually ended up buying some wine there as well. Gorgeous wine by the way.
