Our visit to Castellane Champagne was a celebration. On the outside it looks very nice with that remarkable tower, but once you’re in it looks rather outdated. I can imagine the meetings of the trade union in this empty beer hall. We were lucky that a young employee gladly wanted to practice his English and he gave us a private guided tour. By an enormous barrel we entered the huge cellars. We got to see every nook and prick and he explained everything in valid English with that funny French accent. The Champagnes they produce are good and certainly the vintage ones are well bodied enough to accompany a pheasant, such as we have done. The entry we rapidly forgot and we enjoyed an unforgettable experience.

The visiting hours are from 10.00 till 12.00 and from 14.00 till 18.00, public holidays etc. excluded.
