You can visit the tower of Chateau the Sancerre (watch the label), but there is also an entrance for the wine devotees (approximately a street further away). The tower gives you a superb view over the whole wine region and a visit to the village Sancerre is worth the climb. We experienced  that the wine house was less successful. The hall was reconstructed and gave it a shabby look. I am frightened that also after the reconstruction this is not going to turn out well. After someone accidentally came by (we were already looking for someone more than a minute) finally someone helped us . Of course tasting is possible and the lady was friendly, but the tasting room was rather dark and with eight people, there was hardly place to taste altogether. Even the wine disappointed us, than we knew it would never be okay between us and Chateau de Sancerre. Too bad, because the name promised so much good.
