Bracco is a micro producer. He produces 15,000 bottles of wine a year. Father works in de vineyard, mother does the sales and daughter is oenologist. The whole production fits in quite some square meters. We are initially welcomed by the father, who only speaks Friulian. There is a small reception and a tasting bar. Bracco makes wines of very good quality, but they are very modest. We taste the Friulano and the Refosco, both from 2009. Because the wines lie one year longer, they are a lot better (especially the balance) than the young 2010 wines which we tasted at other wineries. The Friulano is fine, not a peak, just a nice glass with all characteristics of the Friulano. A hint of citrus, a little bit of almond, some bitterness in the aftertaste, but pretty clean. The 2009 Refosco wine is a great success. Where the Refosco can be naturally rich of tannins, this one is a nice fruity wine with enough body. The price is very acceptable.Because the company is small and everyone is busy with the production you are more than welcome by appointment only. This contribution was made by Chris Haenen and Suzan Haenen -Kerkvliet of the wine import company Con Gusto - Flavor From Friuli (www.congusto.nl), specialist in Friuli and in native Friulian grape
