Pfalz and its Deutsche Weinstrasse (Wine Road)

From North to South here is the so-called Deutsche Weinstrasse (Wine Road) for 80km’s long. On the slopes of the Haardt mountains, the Pfälzer Forest, are the many vineyards with mainly Riesling grapes that give primarily strength and finesse to the wine. Müller-Catoir lies in Haardt: the heart of the Palatinate. Since 1744, this family owned winery was led by women for over a 100 years. It the moment it is owned by Jacob Heinrich Catoir. His son, Philip David does the daily management. The estate has 20 acres, of which 30% are located on the slopes.
