Baden

Most of the wines from this area come from the vineyards south of Baden-Baden. In the town of Breisach you will find the best terroir. This comes from an ancient volcano the Kaiserstuhl. There is a warm climate which is ideal for the ripening of the grapes. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are planted here frequently. A specialty from this region are two rosés: Weißherbst (only from the pinot noir) and the Baden-Rotgold (a mix of yeasts of Grauer Burgunder and Pinot Noir).

Wow! The Kaiserstuhl. Known as the warmest place in Germany. 27 degrees and clear blue skies.Weingut Pix is my goal. Reinhold Pix is a passionate winemaker. Ecology is key. Upon arrival (late September) all is prepared for the upcoming harvest. Reinhold goes for small, with crates low to the ground so the grapes will not get damaged. Everything is done by hand.
