In Castellina in Chianti is the famous winery Rocca del Macìe situated. The heavy bastion has a nice tasting room and shop. There are both white and red wines, especially the red is recommended. In the cozy restaurant you could have lunch or dinner, but please reserve in advance. If you're lucky, a private opera is staged for you. Rocca del Macìe organizes singing concourse and a home for many talents from all over the world.

For groups of up to 15 persons organized tours are available on Saturday or Sunday between 11.00 and 15.00 hours. For larger groups, it is also possible to make a reservation on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

The shop is open between 9.30 and 19.30.
